Hokum Hoedown

The first Friday of each month, the Hokum Hi-Flyers, a bluegrass, Appalachian, folk band headed by C of I colleague Scott, plays for a square dance at the Linen Building in downtown Boise. I get invited every month on Facebook and I never found an opportunity to go until this month. Jennie, Juliette, Caitlin, Dustin and I decided to head downtown and attempt some square dancing and reel dancing.

You guys, it is a workout! First of all, I will say that they callers make it super simple. They break everything down for you and no one there (at least no one that we hung out/danced with) were super into it so you could make mistakes and it was OK. We danced a couple of square dances and a couple of reels and they really get the place hopping!

It was HOT though so we took some time to sit outside and cool down and chat. Afterwards we headed down to Bittercreek for some dinner since it was about 10 pm and no one had really eaten yet. Good conversation, good friends, good food, good dancing, what more could you ask for!?
