30B430 #1

Taking advantage of their Mission Viejo Lake Pass, mom and I joined Allie and Beth at the lake to do some paddle-boarding. The Dufault ladies had gone before but it our the Yadlin ladies first time giving it a whirl. We went kind of early in the day and the lake was calm (except for the massive clan of junior lifeguards swimming their way up and down the lake) and there weren't any boats out to make wake. We all managed to stay not only afloat but also paddle our way around. I definitely think my abs and arms (and possibly legs) will be sore tomorrow. You can feel them working as you maneuver your way around the lake, especially if you're going in a big circle or aiming for a certain place. It was also a lot easier than I thought it was going to be- a few moments of panic when things got a little rocky but I felt pretty good about how sturdy it all was- even without the little feet indentations I've seen on other paddle boards. The scenery around us was lovely and it was pretty easy to have conversations while you paddled around. Definitely worth it and I'm so glad that I put it on my list!
